The Hendricks Chapel Choir will present its annual spring concert on Sunday, April 22 at 4 p.m. in Hendricks Chapel.
The concert, “Songs of the Human Spirit—Crying, Rejoicing, Dancing,” is free and open to the public.
The diverse program will include works by master composers Johannes Brahms, Joseph Haydn, Orlando Gibbons and Hugo Distler; contemporary music by living composers Ola Gjeilo, Eric Barnum, Emma Lou Diemer and Bob Chilcott; and music from Haiti and Serbia performed in native languages.
The choir is conducted by John Warren, director of choral activities at Hendricks Chapel and associate professor in the Setnor School of Music in the College of Visual and Performing Arts. Accompaniment will be provided by Kola Owolabi, University organist and assistant professor of music in the Setnor School.
A reception will follow in the Noble Room.
