New York Times bestselling author Gary Zukav will be joining Soulful Sit-Downs, the student-run discussion series about life’s big questions, via Skype, on Thursday, March 27, at 7 p.m.
Sean Martinelli ’15, a Newhouse broadcast and digital journalism student, will guide the Skype conversation with Zukav in room 204 of the Tolley Building. The program is open to students, faculty and staff. The discussion will also be live streamed .
The author will discuss how students can create a sense of authentic power in their lives. Participants will also have the opportunity to ask Zukav questions during the conversation.
“For decades, Gary has inspired millions of people across the world through his teaching and writing.” Martinelli says. “It’s an honor to now bring his work to a new generation of students at Syracuse.”
Zukav’s 1989 book “The Seat of the Soul” (Simon & Schuster) became a cultural phenomenon, and led to 36 appearances on “The Oprah Winfrey Show.” His other books, including “Soul Stories” (Free Press, 1990), have collectively sold more than six million copies and been published in 32 languages.
Zukav is also the co-founder of the Seat of the Soul Institute, an organization intended to help people create and cultivate meaning and purpose in their lives. He is a graduate of Harvard University with a degree in international relations.
Space for the event will be limited, so interested people should email Martinelli (stmart06@syr.edu) if they want to attend.
