eProfessors/ePractitioners partner for entrepreneurship projectsOctober 30, 2007Eileen Jevisejevis@uc.syr.edu
Professors and practitioners have been chosen to launch the first projects for “Enitiative” — the Syracuse Campus-Community Entrepreneurship Initiative — which connects campus and community organizations by providing entrepreneurship grants to fund ideas for revitalizing Central New York in the areas of technology, neighborhoods and the arts. The projects are made possible by a grant awarded to SU from the Ewing Marion Kauffman Foundation.
The “eProfessors” and “ePractitioners” have been selected from campuses and organizations in Central New York and will play significant leadership roles in teaching, research and service within their respective disciplines. The eProfessors and ePractitioners will engage in entrepreneurship projects that involve faculty, students and community members. They will serve two-year terms, and each will receive a maximum of $20,000 to support their Enitiative project.
A five-year, $3 million Kauffman Campuses Initiative endowment is enabling the Enitiative coalition of committed academic and community partners to incorporate entrepreneurship into every facet of advancing SU’s Scholarship in Action vision throughout Central New York.
