Cynthia Doe, principal with Ernst & Young’s Information Technology Risk and Assurance Practice , will kick off The HUB 2011 Spring Speaker Series on Monday, Feb. 21.
Her presentation, “Corporate Social Responsibility: Using Our People Skills to Make a Difference in a Changing World,” will begin at 5 p.m. in the Katzer Collaboratory, Room 347 of Hinds Hall, and is free and open to the public.
Doe will discuss what corporate social responsibility is; why it is important to business and its people; why businesses are engaged and how that integrates with strategy; how busy professionals and students balance their commitments; and the benefits of engagement for the community, school, company and individual.
Doe has more than 19 years of experience working in the financial services industry, specifically in asset management, banking and capital markets. She has significant experience working with major financial services clients on internal and external audits, third-party reporting exams, and risk management assessments and frameworks. Working closely with Ernst & Young’s asset management practice, she coordinates financial audit-related ITRA work, including SAS 70 examinations; provides training on information technology (IT) concepts and IT audit principles; and coordinates with other advisory services to deliver effective and efficient recommendations for Ernst & Young’s clients. She is a certified information systems auditor and received a bachelor’s degree in finance from Boston College.
