Six Syracuse University drama students in the ’ (VPA) Department of Drama and the Bill Horrace Trio are presenting a series of vocal jazz performances during the spring 2012 semester at Phoebe’s Restaurant, 900 E. Genesee St., and Syracuse Stage, 820 E. Genesee St., Syracuse.
The students—senior Elizabeth Boyke, junior Sarah Cassell , senior Alliy Drago, junior Chloe Rodabaugh, junior Sarah Talbot and junior Joanne Wilkens—are performing various jazz standards as part of a drama experience course taught by Rebecca Karpoff, instructor of voice in VPA, and Horrace, professor of economics in the Maxwell School of Citizenship and Public Affairs.
Performances at Phoebe’s Restaurant will take place at 8 p.m. on the following Thursdays: Feb. 2 and 16, March 8, 22 and 29 and April 19 and 26. There is no admission charge. For more information, visit .
Performances at Syracuse Stage will take place at 6:30 p.m. in the Sutton Pavilion on the following dates: Feb. 2 and 16, prior to the evening performances of “Caroline, or Change;” March 8 and 22, prior to evening performances of “Red;” and April 19 and 25, prior to evening performances of “The Brothers Size.” Visit for more information.
