New iPhone Opens Doors For Communication Progress

With the announcement of the new iPhone, Syracuse School of Education Professor spoke with KCBS radio on how new technologies allows those with communication challenges to more easily converse with others.
“For a lot of people who didn’t use verbal speech, they were reliant on what we call speech generation devices,” she said. “With the advent of mobile technology, we saw folks being able to access apps that will allow them to have text to speech that was far less expensive and really adaptable.”
