SU Creates Ties With South African Community

Two Newhouse professors, and , have returned from a trip to Grahamstown, South Africa, where they led a group of students in a community immersive media project. The professors brought eight Syracuse graduate students and four Syracuse City High School students with them, aiming to capture and tell the stories of a local community.
“There’s not enough representation in the states of the continent of Africa”, Harper told media outlet, Grocott’s Mail. “It’s about empowering people through skill sets to be able to speak for themselves.” Davis also added, “We’re more alike than different.”
