Global Change — ¹ú²úÂ鶹¾«Æ· Mon, 27 Mar 2023 18:13:28 +0000 en-US hourly 1 https://wordpress.org/?v=6.6.2 Robert Moucha /faculty-experts/robert-moucha/ Fri, 17 Feb 2017 21:14:28 +0000 /?post_type=faculty-experts&p=114507 Dr. Moucha’s primary research interest entails the coupling of landscape evolution models with geodynamics. Such models, together with independent geophysical techniques and geological observations, provide a roadmap for a greatly improved understanding of the tectonic evolution of our planet.

Current areas of active research include: landscape evolution in response to tectonics, changes in climate and sea level; development of density models for the mantle by integrating seismic tomography and mantle convection modeling; melt generation and extraction during continental rifting; carbon cycle of the Hadean-Archean Earth; and surface deformation in response to flat-slab subduction. Inherent to my research is high-performance computing and the development and continuous improvement of geodynamic and landscape evolution software.

Christopher Junium /faculty-experts/christopher-junium/ Fri, 17 Feb 2017 20:56:14 +0000 /?post_type=faculty-experts&p=114500

Dr. Junium is a sedimentary and organic geochemist with a focus on the redox evolution of the Earth, specializing in biogeochemical cycling. His research interests span the spectrum of geologic time from the Archean to modern systems. Currently, he is am working principally on the Cretaceous and Neoproterozoic with an eye toward understanding future global change.
