“Gather” Virtual Screening

Our friends at SUNY-ESF are hosting a free virtual screening of “Gather” on Thursday, Nov. 12 at 6 p.m., followed by a conversation. “Gather” is an intimate portrait of the growing movement amongst Native Americans to reclaim their spiritual, political and cultural identities through food sovereignty, while battling the trauma of centuries of genocide. Rock Your Mocs!

Rock Your Mocs was founded and initiated by Jessica “Jaylyn” Atsye (Laguna Pueblo, NM) in 2011 and grew into a world-wide social media movement. Follow #RockYourMocs on social media on Nov. 15 as Indigenous peoples across the world wear their moccasins to stand together and recognize tribal individuality.

Indigenous Stewardship in Haudenosaunee Country

Join Professor Neil Patterson, member of the Tuscarora Nation and director of the Center for Native Peoples and the Environment at SUNY-ESF for his lecture titled “Indigenous Stewardship in Haudenosaunee Country.” Patterson’s work is focused on celebrating, restoring and building relationships between indigenous communities and their aboriginal territory.
